WIX has several benefits over the popular WordPress for developing mini or small business websites. Where a WordPress site will crash when not continuously updated, WIX updates automatically, so your site will not go down! There is more of a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) platform when editing, not the clunky backend of WP to maneuver. A recent venture was the migration of Facefirst.com a facial recognition company site from WordPress to WIX with Amy Dryer Design who created the graphical interface.
I started website design as Hunter Communication Design using Dreamweaver back in 1999, when the graphic interface was just getting fun, but adding drop-down javascript menus, animations and continuous background graphics was a chore. Now, it's easy to plug in features like shopping carts, PayPal, galleries, forms (which used to be a major headache!) animations, and scrolling marquees, so I can concentrate on making a good website design.
I go about site planning and organization as before, using the same thought processes and research to create the information architecture.
Do you think your business would benefit from a migration from WordPress, or a new WIX site? Ask me about it. Here are a few of my recent sites.
